STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY BLOGS
You will be required to upkeep a PHOTO-BLOG for this course. The purpose of the blog is to showcase and exhibit your strongest work. It allows you to take your work out of the classroom and allow others to share in your photography. Another reason for the blog is that you spend some time writing your observations and insights on your photo process (why, where, how, etc...). I'm not only interested in the final photograph, but want to know the decisions made behind the photography, and how you created it.
"Good photography has the power to change perspectives, surprise and inspire people, and make people care. (small or big change)"
There are regular check ups for progress. The checks will look at the consistency of your entries, the amount of the work (outside and in class), and thoughtful captions or writing that tell your stories and observations.
How engaging is your blog? Is it interesting?
Does it have a good design and aesthetic layout?
And is there a growth and development in your photography skills and ideas.
Find examples for inspiration. Your photo blogs need to create a "story", bring people into your world, or the world that exists around you. Powerful and effective imagery only works if your audience is drawn into your composition and ideas.
