#1: INNER SELFIE [Identity]
Student will explore and investigate a range of photographic artists who capture self-portraiture. Student will analyze and reflect on self in order to create a meaningful self-portrait based in photographic media.
OBJECTIVES:
Why you should do it: Self-portraits are the ultimate form of self-expression in photography, and to a degree, it is also a right of passage. A little research will reveal that almost every famous photographer has produced at least one self-portrait in their career. Apart from the artistic aspect of this exercise, it also teaches you firsthand how to recognize and fix bad and awkward poses. |

#2: FEARS & PHOBIAS

#3: THE ART OF THE FLAT LAY
Students will create a photographic artwork with the organized representation of objects. The theme will be developed and shared by the student.
Not sure what a flat lay is? Really simply, it’s a birds-eye-view or overhead photo. Usually of things like food, fashion, tech, or desktop accessories. OBJECTIVES:

#4: LEADING LINES
This week your photographic challenge is to take and share an image that uses the compositional tool of ‘Leading Lines’.
How to Use Leading Lines for Better Compositions. Leading lines pave a clear path for the eye to follow through different layers of an image. Whether the lines are straight or curved, they typically lead toward the main subject of a photograph. Leading lines can be an extremely effective tool when it comes to photography. So, this week, You are asked to get out there and find some lines that guide your viewers' eyes through a scene. You can use them in a portrait or a landscape or anything in between. #5: CREATIVE PERSPECTIVES
Anyone can take a camera and point it at something and click to take a photograph. It takes a lot of skill and creative ideas to know where to angle/point your camera and the right time to take a photograph. Jordi Puig is a Barcelona-based photographer who is all about creative usage of angles and props. Looking at his photos (above) it leaves you wondering how he was able to create those photographs.

Panning is a technique that can produce amazing results (if you perfect it…. or get lucky) but is also one that can take a lot of practice to get right.

#7: PHOTOWALK CHALLENGE
Complete this photowalk challenge while we are on the field trip to Downton. You have roughly 3-4 hours available to you during the day away from Delview. Spend time thinking about the 12 photowalk challenges ahead of time so you are prepared when we arrive.
Do some research and get inspiration by looking at photography work. This will be helpful in getting ideas and showing you different ways of framing and composing your shots. Screenshot this section ahead of time (in case you don't have data or access to Wi-Fi). If you are unable to come along with us on the field trip you will plan out your own day (weekend?) to go on a stroll with a camera to complete this assignment. The photo walk challenge is a photo-based scavenger hunt and an amazing teaching tool for training your eye, understanding light and color, and learning to tell stories with your photos.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE
The challenge is to get out and take as many photos you can that matches with the theme and concepts. Don't just shoot one photo for each idea, try and keep exploring.
